Blood Orange Olive Oil Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 orange
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup Fustini's Blood Orange Olive Oil
  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • orange juice

Directions

Step 1. 

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Zest the orange into a large mixing bowl. Add the sugar to the bowl; with your fingers rub the zest and sugar together until they’re well incorporated to infuse the sugar with the orange essential oils. Add the yogurt, eggs and Fustini’s Blood Orange Olive Oil and whisk well to incorporate.


Step 2. 

In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Pour the batter into the buttered and floured pan.


Step 3. 

Bake the bread for 50 to 55 minutes, until it is golden brown on top and is set in the middle. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean. When done, remove the bread, poke holes in the top of the crust and drizzle orange juice over top. Allow to cool completely.
