Turkey Chili Dogs


  • 1 tablespoon Fustinis Gremolata olive 0il
  • 2 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 yellow onion, small dice
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 jalapeno, minced
  • 1 red pepper, small dice
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon coriander
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 28 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 12 quality cooked frankfurters, kept warm
  • 12 hoagie buns
  • cheddar cheese, grated
  • other garnishments
    • caramelized onions
    • mustard
    • pickles


Step 1. 

Heat gremolata oil in a pot and add ground turkey. Cook, breaking up the meat, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove cooked turkey to a plate. To the same pot, add onion, garlic, jalapeno and red pepper. Sauté until tender, then add spices, and tomatoes. Bring to a simmer and add back the turkey.  Simmer chili for at least 15 minutes to allow it to thicken slightly.  Place a cooked frankfurter in a bun, top with chili and cheese.
