Whipped Feta with Honey and Pistachios

Whipped Feta with Honey and Pistachios

Ingredients

  • 4 oz feta cheese (feta in brine is easier to blend)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Fustini's Herbs de Provence OR Gremolata olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pistachios
  • ¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • Slices of toasted pita or crackers or crostini

Directions

Step 1. 

Whip feta and cream cheese in a food processor with olive oil until smooth. Add the garlic and dried basil and whip again.

Put the cheese mixture in a shallow bowl and make a well in the middle and fill with the honey. Sprinkle with the chopped pistachios and the cracked black pepper. Serve with pieces of crostini or warm pita bread.

    Delicious! Had several compliments. I was lazy and used a bowl and it became a soupy mess. Make sure you use a plate and create a honey well or it will look unappetizing but still taste great.
