What influence does community have in supporting others?
We believe everyone has a role to play in the fight against hunger. Food Gatherers relies on the generous support of our community members to fulfill our mission of alleviating hunger and eliminating its causes.
This year, as food prices remain stubbornly high, many of our neighbors are struggling to afford food and other necessities like rent and medication. Our collective commitment to fighting hunger where we live is essential to building a food-secure community.
What difference does dignity bring to providing others with healthy & flavorful food?
Choice and variety are central to serving the community with dignity. For Food Gatherers, listening to the needs of the neighbors we serve is key. We know that each person is an expert on what foods are important to their families, cultures, and health.
Many low-income households face barriers to accessing a healthy diet so we leverage our resources to source foods that have a high nutritional value so that our neighbors can make delicious, nourishing meals for themselves and their families.
