In a medium saucepan, add the sugar, water, and balsamic. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool. Pour the syrup into a clean, airtight container and store it in the refrigerator.
Rim 4 glasses with lime and dip in salt. In a blender combine tequila, lime juice, triple sec, 2 oz of sugar mixture (simple syrup), and ice. Blend until a slushy consistency. Pour into glasses and garnish with lime rounds.
