Make flavorful Scotch Eggs, with a boost of sweetness from Fustini's Maple balsamic.

Scotch Eggs

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs - 4 soft boiled, 2 beaten

  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1 & 1/2 to 2 cups of any kind of breading

  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/3 cup Fustini's Maple balsamic

Directions

  1. Cook soft boiled eggs. (6-7 minutes in boiling water), chill and peel.

  2. Preheat oven to 400°. In small mixing bowl, mix pork sausage, onion powder, garlic powder, rosemary, and thyme. Divide into 4 even parts (like a burger). Roll each soft boiled egg in flour that has salt and pepper to taste. Coat egg evenly. Wrap each egg in sausage patty making 4 firm "sausage balls".

  3. Dip each ball into egg wash and coat entirely using bread crumbs. Place on baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes or until sausage is no longer pink.

  4. Meanwhile make your maple balsamic reduction by simmering 1/3 cup Maple balsamic vinegar over medium low heat for about 5 minutes. Drizzle over scotch eggs when finished.
